Biography
Dr. Josep Lupón is cardiologist since 1987 and did the residency in Hospital Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona. He defended his Doctoral Thesis in 1986 with “Magna cum laude” degree. He is staff member of the Cardiology Department at the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol in Badalona (Province of Barcelona) since 1988 and in 2005 became Head of Section. Since 2001 is the Coordinator and person in charge of the Heart Failure Unit, one of the pioneers in Spain. Dr. Lupón has published over 200 manuscripts and has presented over 450 communications in national and international congresses, most of them dealing with Heart Failure. He has been the PI of 2 national competitive projects. He was vice-president of the Catalan Society of Cardiology during the years 2011-2012. Since 2008 is Associate Professor of Medicine for the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
