Biography
Dr Ahmed Ammar is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and an Honorary Consultant at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire since 2020. His main areas of interest include atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia ablation, as well as conduction system pacing. Dr Ammar began his cardiology training at Ain Shams University Hospitals in Egypt, earning a Master’s degree in Cardiology in 2013 and a PhD in Cardiology in 2017, before being appointed as Lecturer in Cardiology at Ain Shams University. He subsequently undertook advanced training in electrophysiology and cardiac pacing in the UK at East Sussex NHS Trust and Barts Heart Centre for 3 years, achieving full accreditation from the European Heart Rhythm Association in electrophysiology in 2019 and in cardiac pacing in 2021. Dr Ammar speaks English and Arabic, and outside of medicine he enjoys swimming and running.
