I am a Consultant Cardiologist at the Cardiology Unit of the University Hospital of Ferrara, primarily working in the echocardiography department. I am actively involved in research and have authored more than 152 papers published in high-impact journals.
My main fields of research include ischemic heart disease and comorbidities (such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), ischemia-reperfusion injury, antiplatelet therapy, percutaneous coronary intervention, frailty in cardiovascular disease, endocarditis, and valvular heart disease. I have participated as an investigator in numerous clinical trials.
I am a member of several scientific societies, including the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC), the Italian Society of Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Imaging (SIECVI), the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), and the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACVC).
I also have extensive experience in meta-analysis.
