Biography
Carolina Ortiz Cortés is a clinical cardiologist with over 15 years of experience, specialising in heart failure. She currently works at Hospital Universitario Fundación de Alcorcón (Madrid), where she leads the Heart Failure Unit and the Multidisciplinary Cardiac Amyloidosis Unit. She holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Extremadura, a specialisation in Cardiology, and three postgraduate Master's degrees in Heart Failure, Cardiac Imaging, and Health Sciences Research, as well as a Level 2 certification in Cardiac MRI from St. George's Hospital, London.
She served as Secretary General of the Spanish Society of Cardiology (2023–2025) and member of its Executive Committee. She currently serves as Coordinator of Quality Programmes at the Spanish Society of Cardiology and as Medical Editor of the cardiovascular education portal Cardioteca.com. Her research focuses on heart failure and health outcomes, with over 25 publications in national and international journals
