
Doctor Pierre-Louis Tharaux

Biography
Pierre-Louis Tharaux is Research Professor at INSERM, The Paris Cardiovascular Centre – PARCC Division of Nephrology, Georges Pompidou European Hospital, AP-HP, Paris.
He is an elected member of the INSERM Scientific Committee on Physiology and Pathophysiology (CSS3)(2016-2020). He is a councilor of the French Society of Cardiology/GRRC (2013-present) and of the French Society of Hypertension (2017-present) and the French Federation of Cardiology (FFC) (2017-present) and acted as a member of the Scientific Program Committee for several international congresses.
Research in his laboratory involves analysis of mouse vascular and renal pathophysiology with translation to clinical studies. His work covers:
1- GPCRs and RTK signaling, multi-omic integration in kidney and vascular cells in accelerated ageing, hypertension, diabetes and auto-immune vasculitides.
2- Involvement of innate immunity and endothelial cells in Sickle Cell Nephropathy and Vasculopathy.
