Dr. Petra Šedová is a cardiologist and academic physician at University Hospital Brno and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University. She holds an M.D. and Ph.D. in neurosciences, complemented by graduate training in law and economics, reflecting an interdisciplinary perspective bridging clinical medicine, ethics, and health systems. Since 2014, she has been a research fellow and collaborator at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA, aligned with the Mayo philosophy integrating patient care, research, and education. Her work focuses on cardiovascular prevention and cardio-cerebrovascular interactions, with particular interest in heart failure, women’s cardiovascular health, and health equity, combining real-world data with implementation science. She contributes to international collaborative research aimed at improving outcomes after myocardial infarction and stroke and is actively involved in academic teaching and mentorship. She speaks Czech, English, and German.
