Biography
Dr. Verma is the Director of Cardiology for the McGill University Health Centre and McGill University. He is a tenured Full Professor of Medicine and the Isadore Rosenfeld Chair in Cardiology. His research interests have focused on catheter ablation of both atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, clinical trials, and translational research of new ablation technologies. He has published several pivotal trials including STAR AF 1, STAR AF 2, EARLY AF, PROGRESSIVE AF, and OCEAN. He has published around 400 peer-reviewed articles in journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Lancet, Nature Medicine, Circulation, European Heart Journal, JACC and others. He has also served as chair or on the writing committee of several international guidelines.
