Biography
Astrid Paul Nordin, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. She received her PhD from Karolinska Institutet in 2024, where she continues her research in atrial fibrillation and catheter ablation. Her main clinical and research interests include catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, atrial substrate characterization, left atrial low-voltage zones, and strategies to improve outcomes after AF ablation. She has had a leading role in the IDEAL-AF randomized multicenter trial evaluating adjunctive low-voltage zone ablation in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation. Outside of medicine, she enjoys sailing, and skiing.
