Thanks to a pliant mentality and a ready mobility, I enriched my medical training at San Raffaele University (Milan, IT) by visiting fellowships throughout Europe (Thoraxcentrum- Rotterdam, NL; Charité- Berlin, DE). In November 2014 I started the Swiss residency program for cardiology at the University Heart Centre (Zurich, CH). In Switzerland, my passion for clinical research bloomed. While pushing forward my interest for coronary intervention, in Zurich I was involved in several research projects on percutaneous valves (MitraClip, TAVI) and clinical cardiology (HF, ACS, Takotsubo). Moreover, I was part of the pre-clinical development of two novel devices (Cardioband and TriCinch), which have now entered the clinical practice.
Together with the machine-learning institute at the ETH, we established the SWISSHEART Network with the aim to apply artificial intelligent in cardiovascular science. We were awarded with the prestigious SPHN/PHRT Grant 2018.
