Garry Jennings AO is Chief Medical Advisor of the National Heart Foundation of Australia and Life Governor at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, where he was Director and CEO (2001–2015). He is Honorary Cardiologist at Alfred Health and Professor of Medicine at The University of Sydney and Monash University. Jennings served as Interim CEO of the National Heart Foundation in 2016 and 2021–2022, and Executive Director of Sydney Health Partners (2017–2020). He founded Nucleus Network Pty Ltd and was Deputy Chair of the Global Cardiovascular Research Funders Forum (until 2024). He Co-Chaired the Australian Risk Prediction Guideline (2023) and will Co-Chair 3 major national guidelines from 2025. Former head of Cardiology at Alfred Hospital, his research includes exercise benefits, indigenous health, and cardiovascular trials. He has published over 700 papers with 50,000 citations, authored six books, and is a public commentator on cardiovascular health.
