Biography
Felicita is a consultant cardiologist, nationally-certified full and aggregated professor at the Catholic University-Gemelli Hospital in Rome (IT). Previously a lecturer/senior registrar at London University (UK), after earning an MD, two specialties and a PhD in Italy, and a 2nd PhD in the NL/UK. Early education was also multinational. Her research has been funded by British and Dutch Heart Foundations, the EU, and Italian Ministries. It focuses on ischaemic syndromes, antithrombotic therapy, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure. Contributions to the ESC include co-chairing the 2024 guidelines on chronic coronary syndromes, chairing the working group on Thrombosis, deputy editing for the Eur Heart J, co-authoring >20 guidelines or position papers, and collaborating with the Scientific Programme-, Press-, and Global Scientific-committees. Her 2025 H-index is 82 (by Top Italian Scientist rating), with over 330 publications that include Lancet, NEJM, JAMA and BMJ.
