Thomas von Lueder is a senior Consultant Cardiologist at the Oslo University Hospital, Norway and specializes in heart failure and echocardiography. Tom received his MD at TU Munich, Germany in 1996, then did a PhD in experimental cardiology at University of Oslo in 2009, and spent 3 years as postdoc with prof. Henry Krum at CCRET, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. His current research interests span from myocardial mechanics to HF pathophysiology and trials. Tom is Fellow of the ESC, an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University since 2015, and Chair of the Working Group on Heart Failure, Norwegian Cardiac Society. He has served as a consultant cardiologist at Oslo university hospital for many years and his currently transitioning into a new role in private practice.
