Dr Laura Corr qualified in London with distinction in 1981. After postgraduate medical training at the Hammersmith Royal Postgraduate Medical School and Royal Brompton Hospitals in London, she did her PhD in the University of London on the vascular biology of coronary arteries. Her further specialist training was in interventional cardiology in the UK and Europe, working on complex angioplasty and lesion imaging. She was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust in 1993 and was Associate Editor of the European Heart Journal from 1997 to 2005. She has lectured widely and written papers and editorials on the role of prevention and treatment of cardiac disease as well as a book on food choices and cholesterol (Eat Your Way to Lower Cholesterol; Orion 2014). Since 2005, she has run a large independent private practice in Harley Street, which deals with all aspects of adult cardiology focusing on diagnosis, evidence-based treatment and early prevention.
