Professor Christian Delles

Christian Delles, MBE, MD, FRCP, FAHA, FBIHS, FAoP Christian Delles is Professor of Cardiovascular Prevention; Head of the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health, University of Glasgow; and Honorary Consultant Physician with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. His research focusses on prevention of cardiovascular diseases and spans from fundamental mechanistic research to clinical translation. Much of his research is driven by an interest in hypertension and includes the molecular basis of vascular diseases; the pathogenesis and long-term consequences of hypertension including hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and gestational diabetes; links between cardiovascular and renal diseases; and differences in the pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases between men and women. Prof. Delles serves as Secretary of the Council of the European Society of Hypertension and Past Chair of Scottish Heart & Arterial disease Risk Prevention (SHARP).
