Prof. Dr. Arno Schmidt-Trucksäss, MD MA, is Medical Director of Department of Sport, Exercise and Health and Head of Division Sports and Exercise Medicine, Section Rehabilitative and Regenerative Sport Medicine and Head of Sports Medicine Outpatient Clinic.
He studied Medicine and Sport Science at Göttingen University, Germany. Later he specialized in General Internal Medicine and Sport and Exercise Medicine at the Universities of Freiburg, Germany and Technical University Munich, Germany.
His research has an integrative medicine approach and focused in the field of physical activity and exercise in cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation. Intervention studies in patients with chronic diseases e.g. diabetes or heart failure and cohort studies over the whole age range are part of his research.
