Dr. Vanhaverbeke graduated as cardiologist at the University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium in 2019. He obtained his PhD in ischemic heart disease and finished an additional 2-year training in interventional cardiology. He also completed a one-year training in percutaneous structural interventions at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark, covering valve interventions such as TAVI and other structural interventions including LAA occlusion. He has specific interest in ischemic heart disease, percutaneous coronary intervention, intracoronary imaging and percutaneous structural heart interventions. His research topics include inflammation and precision medicine in acute coronary syndrome and clinical research in structural interventions. He is active in the EU-CardioRNA COST Action CA17129. Dr. Vanhaverbeke was former treasurer of the Young Cardiologists' Club, a working group of the Belgian Society of Cardiology.
