Biography
Martin F. Reiner, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist and specialist in internal medicine currently working at the Department of Cardiology at the University Heart Center, University Hospital Zurich (Switzerland). After graduating from medical school at the University of Innsbruck (Austria) in 2012, he completed the MD-PhD program at the Faculty of Science at the University of Zurich, followed by specialization in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the Cantonal Hospital Baden (Switzerland) and the University Hospital Zurich. His research focuses on thrombogenesis in cardio- and cerebrovascular disease and arrhythmogenic mitral valve prolapse, with an emphasis on translational approaches to bridge basic science and clinical studies. Additionally, Dr. Reiner is a member of the European Society of Cardiology's Working Group on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy.
