Professor Dr. med. Alexander Ghanem is Head Cardiologist at Asklepios Klinik Nord, Hamburg (since 2019) and adjunct professor at the University of Bonn. He was trained at the University Heart Centre Bonn and board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and vascular medicine, with additional qualifications in interventional cardiology and angiology, he is an expert in complex coronary and structural cardiac interventions. His research focuses on transcatheter valve therapy, stroke prevention, and AI applications in cardiovascular medicine. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed papers, led national and international studies, and held leadership roles in the German Society of Cardiology, including Presidency of the German Interventional Working Group (AGIK) of the German Cardiac Society DGK (2023-25), and DGK Heart Days presidencies in 2024 and 2025. He speaks German, English, and conversational Greek and Arabic.
