Dr. Antonios Pitsis is the Head of Cardiac Surgery at St. Luke’s Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece. His clinical experience involves more than 15,000 cardiac operations as the main operating surgeon and more than a thousand thoracic operations. Currently he performs on average 400 cardiac cases a year, the majority of these cases being Totally Endoscopic Procedures. With over thirty years of experience in Adult Cardiovascular Surgery and Valvular Heart Disease, Dr. Antonios Pitsis has a specialized focus in totally endoscopic procedures which include mitral and tricuspid repairs, aortic valve replacements, repair of adult congenital heart defects (such as atrial and ventricular septal defects and valve repairs), cardiac tumors, as well as myectomies for obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Dr. Pitsis has established a highly successful endoscopic cardiac surgery training center, with many visitors all over the world attending his practice.
