Biography
Ming Lei is the principal investigator and head of the cardiac signalling group at the Department of Pharmacology of University of Oxford. He has published ~110 peer-reviewed articles including those in top journals in cardiovascular and physiological fields (Circulation, Circulation Research, and Journal of Physiol). He served as a Senior Editor for Experimental Physiology, Journal of Mol and Cell Cardiol and is currently an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Physiology. He recently published "A modernised classification of cardiac anti-arrhythmic drugs" (Circulation. 2018;138:1879–1896), proposing the latest classification system for anti-arrhythmic drugs. This new classification system has a profound impact on the development of new antiarrhythmic drugs and their clinical application and was highlighted by European Heart Journal (2019; 40: 797–798) as “arrhythmia treatment in the 21st Century”.
