Biography
Professor of Cardiology (University of Edinburgh) British Heart Foundation Professor (both Emeritus). Research activities include mechanisms and manifestations of thrombosis and coronary artery disease. Responsible for leading national and international trials on coronary artery disease including RITA-3 trial and GRACE. Co-Chair of large randomised trials including COMPASS, ROCKET, CHARISMA, CURE.
Author of more than 700 peer reviewed publications. H index Web of Science/Scopus June 2017: 106, Google Scholar Feb 2020): H index 145. Thompson Reuters Listed as one of the top 1% of scientists “the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds”
