Biography
Prof. Dominik Linz is a clinician-scientist, who defended his medical (MD) doctor thesis in 2010 and pursued formal doctoral training (PhD, defended in 2013) in the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (CARIM), Maastricht University, The Netherlands. In 2017, he completed his Cardiology training in Homburg/Saar, Germany. From 2017 – 2019, he joint the group of Prof. Prashanthan Sanders as Associate Professor and clinical EP-fellow in Adelaide, Australia. Since 2019, he is Head of Clinical Electrophysiology at the Maastricht University Medical Center in Maastricht, The Netherlands. In 2022, he has been appointed as full professor of Lifestyle Factors in Cardiac Arrhythmia at the Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMI) at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and in 2024, he has been appointed as full professor of Comprehensive Atrial Fibrillation Management at Maastricht University. His research is focusing on atrial fibrillation mechanisms, risk factors and digital health.
