Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Dr. Haibo Jia, MD, PhD, FACC, focuses on intravascular imaging, specifically, the utility of OCT in guidance of PCI and acute coronary syndrome (ACS). He has been involving in many clinical studies on the aspect of protocol design, data analysis, to manuscript writing and revising. He has published more than 50 scientific research papers in the field of cardiovascular imaging, including JACC and Eur Heart J. Recently, using OCT he published a very important study on in vivo diagnosis of plaque erosion by OCT, which was a landmark paper for better understanding the pathological mechanism of ACS. Most recently, as one of principle investigators, he designed and performed a pilot study utilizing OCT to test a non-stent strategy in patients with ACS caused by plaque erosion without obstructive stenotic lesions (EROSION study). His work has significant impact on not only our understanding of the mechanism of ACS but also management of ACS.
