Associate Professor Zacharias Mandalenakis

Zacharias Mandalenakis, MD, PhD, FESC, is University Senior Consultant in Cardiology and Internal Medicine at Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His clinical and research interests span cardiovascular medicine, including adult congenital heart disease, heart failure and cardiometabolic disease. He leads a cardiovascular research group and has extensive experience in clinical research and industry-sponsored Phase II–III trials as Principal Investigator, with expertise in study implementation, patient safety, GCP and clinical data interpretation. His experience is complemented by training in drug development and Executive MBA studies, strengthening his knowledge of strategy, leadership and business. He is actively involved in education, supervision and international cardiovascular collaborations. He speaks Swedish, English and Greek.
