Biography
Dr Golnaz Houshmand, MD, FSCMR, is an imaging cardiologist, associate professor of cardiology, and head of the Cardiovascular Imaging Research Centre, which she established at Rajaie Cardiovascular Institute in Tehran in 2024. Her expertise encompasses cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), coronary CT angiography, and advanced echocardiography. After completing her CMR fellowship at Royal Brompton Hospital in London in 2018, she returned to Rajaie as CMR lead. Since then, she has trained fellows in CMR and cardiac CT through a dedicated, structured fellowship program. She interprets approximately 1,000 CMR and 2,000 cardiac CT studies annually. Her research focuses on multimodality cardiovascular imaging, cardiomyopathies, myocarditis, valvular heart disease, and coronary artery disease. She maintains active scientific collaborations with the EACVI.
