Professor of Medicine, Department of Molecular and Clinical Medicine, Institute of Medicine, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, and Sahlgrenska University Hospital 2002- present. 2006-2008 member of the Task Force on the Management of ST-Segment Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction of the ESC. 2005 to present member of the Steering Committee of the PURE (Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiologic) study, PI of PURE Sweden. Member of the Steering Committee of SCAPIS (Swedish CardioPulmonary bioImage Study). Awarded Silver Medal, and selected for 2010 Geoffrey Rose lecture in Population Sciences, ESC Congress 2010. > 350 original papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
