Doctor Olaf Bergmann

Olaf Bergmann’s research focuses on human cardiac regeneration, with a particular interest in cardiomyocyte renewal, cell-cycle control, and mechanisms that regulate myocardial repair in the adult heart. His work combines human tissue analysis, radiocarbon birth dating, stem-cell-derived cardiac models, and pharmacological approaches to identify druggable pathways that promote endogenous heart regeneration.
