Biography
Dr Ralf Harskamp is an associate professor and general practitioner at Amsterdam UMC, the Netherlands, where he heads a research group on cardiovascular primary care. He combines clinical research with providing care for patients at Holendrecht Health Center in the multiethnic borough of Amsterdam Southeast. His academic training includes a PhD from the University of Amsterdam and a fellowship at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. His research focuses on improving cardiovascular health in the community through earlier detection, better triage, and more effective management of common cardiovascular conditions in primary care, with particular interest in point-of-care diagnostics, digital decision support, and AI-supported technologies. Outside work, he enjoys field hockey as both a player and youth coach, plays guitar and writes songs, likes cruising on a motorcycle on curvy roads and road trips and beach vacations with his family.
