Dr. Abraham Samuel Babu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy at the Manipal College of Health Professions, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, India. His work is focused on cardiac rehabilitation (CR) with emphasis on providing CR for those with heart failure and pulmonary hypertension, across various settings and is funded both nationally and internationally. He currently serves as the EAPC Young Ambassador to India and the HFA Study Group on Exercise Physiology & Training. He was a part of the development group for the WHO's package of rehabilitation interventions for IHD, an Endeavor Fellow (Govt of Australia) and also an Emerging Leader (2019 cohort) of the Salim Yusuf Emerging Leaders Program by the WHF. In addition, he is actively involved with building delivery and capacity of cardiac rehabilitation in low resource settings through his engagement as the Vice-Chair of International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (ICCPR).
