Biography
Fernando Domínguez is a cardiology consultant in the Inherited Cardiac Disease and Heart Failure Unit at Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro–Majadahonda (Madrid). He specializes in inherited cardiac conditions and heart failure, combining strong clinical and research expertise. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and completed his PhD at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where his thesis on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy received an award for best PhD in 2017. He completed his cardiology residency at his current institution, including a rotation at Charité Hospital in Berlin, and later trained as a fellow in inherited cardiac diseases and as a researcher at the CNIC. With over 100 peer-reviewed publications, he is actively involved in professional societies such as the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC), where he coordinates the Myocarditis Working Group, and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), contributing to committees and working groups.
