Dr. Maka Gegenava is experienced clinician and researcher. She has received MD degree, as well as PhD degree from Tbilisi state Medical University. She gained valuable clinical experience in different medical centers in Europe (Spain, Germany, Netherlands), USA (Cleveland clinic, Ohio) and UK (Liverpool, UK). Her scientific work is mostly dedicated to cardiovascular research. She has already done significant amount of presentation at international congresses, publications in high impact factor international journals. Dr. Maka Gegenava is a winner of many international and domestic awards and grants. She has big teaching experience in internal medicine at her home institution. At present time she is undergoing training and doing research at Leiden University Medical Center (Leiden, The Netherlands), studying cardiovascular system involvement in systemic lupus erythematosus.
