Professor Karl-Heinz Kuck

LANS Cardio, Hamburg (Germany)

Prof Karl-Heinz Kuck is currently affiliated with LANS Cardio in Hamburg, Germany, as well as the University Heart Center Lübeck in Lübeck, Germany. His main scientific interest since the 1980s has been clinical cardiac electrophysiology, eventually focusing on catheter ablation of various types of atrial, atrioventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmia. He has been the Principal Investigator of a number of large randomized controlled trials, among them AMICA, ATTEST, BERLIN VT, CASH, CAT, DINAMIT, FIRE AND ICE, and VTACH. In recent years, Prof Kuck has also become actively involved in the field of catheter-based treatment of valvular heart diseases. His scientific activities are reflected (as of November 2019) in more than 800 papers he has authored or co-authored. Prof Kuck has served as a Board Member of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and served as EHRA President.
