Biography
Degree in Medicine, Catholic University Medical School in Rome(1981); specialization in Cardiology, Pisa University (1985). 1999-2023: head of the ICCU, San Filippo Neri Hospital, Rome (IT) He has been national secretary of ANMCO (italian national association of cardiologists working in general hospitals) and chairman of ANMCO WG on IT. Co-founder of the italian WG on Cardiac Markers, of the ANMCO WG on Cardiovascular Emergencies and of the italian WG on Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology (two years as chairman). Nucleus member of the ESC WG Acute Cardiac Care / Acute Cardiovascular Care Association from 2001 to 2008 (chairman 2006-2008). Visiting professor, Cardiovascular Pharmacology, Camerino University School of Pharmacy. National qualification as Associate Professor of Cardiology (2018). Author of 421 scientific papers and abstracts. Editor-in-chief, ESC Textbook of Intensive and Acute Cardiovascular Care, Oxford University Press, 2011, 2015, 2021.
