Doctor Petros Athanassopoulos

Dr Petros Athanassopoulos BSc MD PhD is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden. Dr Athanassopoulos has a clinical background in Vascular Medicine and Cardiology. He received his PhD on Chemokine-receptor mediated Dendritic-cell and T-cell re-circulation in Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation from The Netherlands. He took up his current consultant post in 2014. He has a special interest in the pathophysiology of different heart failure phenotypes and is currently involved in research into the development of heart failure device therapies.
