Doctor Lavanya Athithan

Dr Lavanya Athithan is a Consultant Cardiologist at Glenfield Hospital, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. She subspecialises in Multimodality Cardiac Imaging and Heart Failure. She is currently the Clinical Lead for Cardiac Amyloidosis. She has set up the Cardio-Oncology Service locally. She completed her PhD in Diabetic Cardiomyopathy and Heart Failure on a BHF Clinical Research Training Fellowship. She has a keen interest in teaching and training and is able to cultivate this through her role within the BSH Education Committee. She continues to be actively involved in clinical academia as an Honorary Senior Lecturer with the University of Leicester.
