Professor Maria Back

Professor Bäck is a senior researcher and physiotherapist with expertice within exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. She is working as an adjuct Professor at the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences at Linkoping University, and at the Institute of Medicine at University of Gothenburg. She is chairing the ESC task Force on Allied Professions, is a member of the Secondary prevention and rehabilitation section of EAPC and an ACNAP board member. Professor Back is part of the SWEDEHEART steering group and past chair of the Swedish Association on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Health Professions. Her research interest covers effects of physical activity and exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation in cardiovascular disease, With particular interest in telerehabilitation, and registry-based studies.
