Dra Souza obtained both her MSc (1992) and Ph.D. (2009) degrees at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Since 2015 she is national director of Cardiology at Rede D'Or Hospitals in Brazil and the Coordinator of the Cardiology and Arrhythmia Pos graduate program in IDOR Brazil. She has a degree of arrhytmia e electrophysiology by BSC, since 1991. She became a BSC member in 1991 and was elected president of the Rio de Janeiro Society of Cardiology for the term 2014-2015. She is fellow of ESC and ACC. She holds a solid academic background in clinical cardiology, arrhytmia as well as in electrophsiology. She published papers focused on: cardiology, RF ablation, atrial fibrillation and risk stratification.
