Biography
Rui Plácido is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Head of the Pulmonary Hypertension Center at Unidade Local de Saúde de Santa Maria, Lisbon, Portugal. He is also an Invited Assistant of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, and a researcher at the Cardiology Center of the University of Lisbon. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and holds Level III certification in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance and Cardiac Computed Tomography. His main areas of expertise include pulmonary hypertension, cardiovascular imaging, heart failure, and clinical research. He is principal investigator in several multicentre clinical trials and author of numerous invited lectures, scientific abstracts, and peer-reviewed publications.
