Professor Christian Ukena

Professor Christian Ukena, MD, MA, is Director of the Department of Cardiology and Angiology at Marien Hospital Herne, University Hospital of Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, appointed in November 2023. He was appointed Professor at Saarland University in August 2021 and has held clinical leadership responsibilities in invasive electrophysiology since June 2014. He is a board-certified cardiologist with additional qualifications in invasive electrophysiology, heart failure, intensive care medicine, acute and emergency medicine, and adult congenital heart disease. His clinical and research interests include atrial fibrillation device therapy, hypertension and renal denervation, heart failure, and acute cardiovascular care.
