Dr Porta-Sánchez graduated in Medicine at the Universitat de Barcelona in 2007 and started his residency in Cardiology at Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona. After completing his residency, in 2013 he received a Post-graduate training grant of "la Caixa" Banking Foundation and pursued further clinical training in Arrhythmia at the University of Toronto (Canada) from 2014 until 2017. In December 2017 he obtained his Fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiolgy title from University of Toronto and decided to come back to Spain to pursue an Academic career in Cardiology. His work in Ventricular Tachycardia was the focus of his PhD that he earned in 2019 with cum laude qualification. He led the Arrhythmia Unit at Hospital Universitario Quirónsalud Madrid from 2018 to 2021 and is currently a staff electrophysiologist at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona as well as a visiting post-doctoral scientist at Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (CNIC).
