Doctor Nuno Dias Ferreira

Nuno Dias Ferreira, MD is a Consultant Cardiologist and Advanced Cardiac Imaging Specialist at ULS Gaia/Espinho, a national reference centre for structural and valvular intervention. Since 2015 he has led the Cardiac CT and CMR Unit (~2,300 cardiac CT and 800cardiac MRI studies/year) and established the equivalent services at Hospital da Luz Arrábida. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto (2005) and completed his Cardiology residency at ULS Gaia/Espinho (2012), with a CMR fellowship at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust, London. He chaired the Portuguese Society of Cardiology's Working Group on Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac MR and CT (2023–2025). His interests span cardiomyopathies, CT functional assessment of coronary disease and CT-based planning for structural intervention; he was an investigator in ISCHEMIA, DISCHARGE and MR-INFORM. Author of 90+ publications and two book chapters (H-index 18), he has supervised 50+ fellows since 2015.
