Doctor Christian Besler

Dr. Christian Besler is an interventional cardiologist and head of the structural heart disease program at the University Heart Center Freiburg / Bad Krozingen, Germany. He received his medical degree and medical doctor from the Hannover Medical School, Germany, before working as a research fellow and, later on, as a clinical fellow at the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. He completed his training in interventional cardiology at the Heart Center Leipzig, Germany, finally specializing in structural heart interventions. His main research interest is the evaluation and treatment of valvular heart disease, particularly in the context of heart failure. He served as an investigator in several landmark studies of transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve therapies.
