Doctor Winok Lapidaire

Dr Winok Lapidaire is a Principal Investigator in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford, where she leads research into the vascular mechanisms linking cardiovascular and brain health. Originally trained in neuroscience at University College Utrecht, University College London and École Normale Supérieure in Paris, she completed her PhD at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health before moving into cardiovascular research. Her interdisciplinary research combines multimodal imaging, machine learning and medical device development to understand how vascular dysfunction affects multiple organs, with a particular focus on hypertension and women's cardiovascular and brain health. Winok also co-invented VITA, a novel bedside imaging device for non-invasive assessment of the microcirculation and blood cell health, and has led its development and clinical validation.
