Biography
Dea Thomas, MD, is an Internal Medicine resident at SUNY Downstate Medical Centre. She will be presenting a case of polymorphic ventricular tachycardia manifesting as convulsive syncope at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress. Originally drawn to cardiology through mentors in her home Jamaica, she is actively involved in several quality improvement and retrospective studies at SUNY Downstate. Dr. Thomas will serve as Chief Resident at SUNY Downstate prior to applying for cardiology fellowship, with an ultimate goal of specializing in advanced heart failure and returning to Jamaica to strengthen heart failure care there. Outside of medicine, she is an avid reader and enjoys watercolour painting.
