Mrs Annick Germeys

Annick Germeys is a member of the European Dementia Carers Working Group (EDCWG) of Alzheimer Europe and is involved in the DORIAN GRAY project as an expert by experience. As the partner and caregiver of a husband living with young-onset Alzheimer’s disease, she brings lived experience of dementia and long-term care into research, advocacy, and awareness raising. Before her retirement, Annick worked in the healthcare sector, where she developed a strong commitment to person-centred care and social inclusion. Through her work and participation in European projects, she aims to contribute to meaningful change in the daily lives of people living with dementia and their families. Her native language is Dutch, and she also speaks English. She has a basic understanding of French and German. In her limited free time, she attends art academy, where she follows the Concept Atelier 3D programme, combining creativity with hands-on artistic exploration.
