Biography
David is a Nurse Consultant in Cardiology at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, UK, and an NIHR Pre-doctoral Fellow. His research focuses on behavioural change in cardiovascular disease prevention and the use of digital technologies to improve patient outcomes. He trained at the University of Southampton, holds an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, and is a Visiting Lecturer and Honorary School Fellow at the University of Brighton. He serves as an Ordinary Officer for the British Association for Nursing and Cardiovascular Care. He has extensive experience in cardiovascular disease management, including leading a Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic, post-intervention follow-up, and acute cardiology in-reach services. His interests include cardiovascular risk reduction, lipid management, diabetes, heart failure, and smoking cessation. He is the clinical lead for the cardiac rehabilitation services and leads the arrhythmia nurse team. He enjoys coaching his son’ basketball team.
