Biography
Dr. Saalis Maqbool completed his medical education in India, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine. During his postgraduate training, his research focused on patients with suspected pulmonary embolism, including a comparison of non-invasive diagnostic approaches, particularly triple-point-of-care ultrasonography, with CT pulmonary angiography (CTPA).
He currently works as a Registrar in Acute Medicine at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, United Kingdom, where he manages a broad range of acute medical and cardiopulmonary presentations.
His professional interests lie primarily in cardiology, with particular interests in preventive cardiology and heart failure. He is passionate about cardiovascular risk-factor optimisation, evidence-based management of heart failure, and improving the early diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease.
