Biography
Lanlin Zhang, MD, is a resident physician in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China. Since 2024, he has been pursuing doctoral training at Peking Union Medical College, focusing on cardiovascular surgery. His main clinical and academic interests include infective endocarditis, valvular heart disease, and aortic disease. His current research focuses on the role of metagenomic next-generation sequencing in improving pathogen detection and long-term outcomes in patients with infective endocarditis, and he is also involved in studies on complex aortic disease and hybrid cardiovascular procedures. Dr Zhang has authored several peer-reviewed publications in cardiovascular surgery. Outside his clinical and research work, he enjoys sports, reading, and keeping up with advances in cardiovascular medicine.
