Biography
Tommaso Lomonaco (Scopus ID: 54789855400) is Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Pisa and Head of the ACHE Lab (Analytical Chemistry for Health and Environment). He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Calabria and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Pisa. His research focuses on analytical methodologies for the identification of biomarkers in biological fluids, advancing non-invasive health monitoring through breath and saliva analysis. His work includes cardiovascular biomarkers, therapeutic drug monitoring, inflammation, and specialized pro-resolving lipid mediators in heart failure. Current research examines the effects of micro- and nanoplastics on cardiovascular health, particularly on cardiomyocytes and vascular cells. He has authored more than 85 peer-reviewed publications and actively participates in international scientific societies and European research networks.
