Mrs Pilar Ignacia Cataldo Miranda

Pilar Cataldo is a Chilean dentist and PhD candidate at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University, Australia. She completed a Master of Public Health at Monash University, developing expertise in pharmacoepidemiology, real-world evidence, and medication effectiveness research. The work presented at ESC 2026 originates from her MPH research, which investigated the effectiveness of beta-blocker therapy following myocardial infarction using contemporary evidence synthesis methods. Pilar is a member of the PharmacoEpidemiology Research Group at Monash University. Her current PhD research examines the impact of medicine shortages on patient and health system outcomes, integrating interests in medicines use, environmental health, and health system resilience. She has received the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Student Excellence Award and was recognised as the highest-achieving international postgraduate student. She speaks English and Spanish.
